Post-Connection Dashboard
A post-connection dashboard that turned Mailchimp's Shopify "connected" state into guided activation, driving a 3× lift in paid conversion and doubling early retention.
Problem: Shopify merchants hit a dead end after connecting their store to Mailchimp — no sync visibility, no in-product guidance toward payoff moments — while Klaviyo was winning merchants by making value feel immediate.
My role: Lead product designer end-to-end for the improved Shopify-connected experience — Post-Connection Dashboard concept, UX patterns for sync transparency and next-step guidance, and cross-team alignment on an e-commerce connected user journey vision.
Constraints: Key parts of the connection flow lived on Shopify's side; initial data sync could take up to a week for large stores; patterns needed to work during partial-data states; coordination required across Partnerships and downstream feature teams.
Outcome: 50.8% feature activation vs. 6.8% control; 14.6% free-to-paid conversion vs. 4.5%; day 8–30 login rates doubled from 19% to 40% for new users.
